Our Mission
Polaris Literary Magazine is an award winning national undergraduate magazine. As an undergraduate magazine, our mission is all about providing opportunities for undergraduates. We want undergraduate writers from around the United States to have a chance to publish their work in a professional quality national venue, building their confidence, and their publishing credentials. We also strive to create a welcoming community for undergraduates on Ohio Northern University campus through the student organization that is Polaris, and through offering professional development opportunities for our student editors through paid competitive positions. Additionally, we hope to provide the satisfaction to our student editors, student staff, and published writers, of having tangible proof of their work in the form of a magazine with their name in it.
A Little About Us
Polaris is the annual undergraduate journal of arts and literature at Ohio Northern University. First published in 1958, the magazine has captured the creative talents of undergraduate students for over fifty years.
Polaris publishes in the categories of fiction, nonfiction, poetry and visual art. We want to see the best that the undergraduate student has to offer and showcase the unique voice of the developing and emerging writer.
Polaris would like to congratulate all of those who were published in last year’s magazine and wish everyone who submitted for this year’s the best of luck! We will be working through all of your submissions in the upcoming weeks as we put together this year’s magazine
